The 16th European Regional Conference, scheduled from March 28 to 30, 2025, at the AX ODYCY Hotel in Malta, is organized by the European Regional Council, International Coordination Committee (ICC) of NRNA, and hosted by the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA-NCC) Malta. This flagship event will bring together global Non-Resident Nepalis (NRNs) to explore opportunities for collaboration, investment, and sustainable development in Nepal under the theme: “Investing in Nepal: Unity for Prosperity.”
The Nepalese diaspora in Europe has long been a vital source of remittance, technical expertise, and cultural promotion. However, their potential in sectors such as infrastructure, entrepreneurship, technology, and sustainable development remains underutilized. Recognizing this untapped capacity, the conference aims to foster synergies between the diaspora and key stakeholders in Nepal. By addressing critical areas such as investment opportunities, capacity building, dual citizenship rights, and sustainable economic growth, the event seeks to empower NRNs to actively contribute to Nepal’s progress and prosperity.
The conference also highlights the importance of strengthening partnerships between NRNs and local entrepreneurs to align with Nepal’s development priorities. Reflecting the belief that “Once a Nepali, always a Nepali,” this event underscores a commitment to channeling the energy and resources of the global Nepali community toward transforming Nepali society. It is the duty of every nation to safeguard the welfare of its citizens, including those of Nepali origin with foreign nationalities, as their well-being ultimately serves the nation’s interests.
The conference will emphasize the importance of fostering robust connectivity between the National Coordination Councils (NCCs) and the International Coordination Council (ICC) of the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA). By enhancing communication, collaboration, and resource-sharing between these entities, the event aims to create a unified and effective network that drives collective efforts for Nepal’s development. Key discussions will explore strategies to: Improve coordination among NCCs across Europe and beyond, Align NCC initiatives with ICC priorities to support flagship projects, Facilitate information exchange to amplify diaspora engagement and impact and Strengthen institutional frameworks for better governance and operational efficiency.
